SCOPE follows the Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS)
model of the Special School District. This is a proactive systems
approach to preventing and responding to classroom and school discipline
problems. Emphasis is directed toward developing and maintaining safe
learning environments where teachers can teach and students can learn.
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports is an approach to
discipline that: defines appropriate behavior that is expected, teaches
expected behaviors, and reinforces appropriate behavior when it occurs.
